Horizon – Chapter 3

It’s a bit later than usual, but it’s still Sunday, right? 🙂

This chapter introduces a few new characters and reveals some more of the plan the elves have cooked up. There’s even a bit of action for the first time in this story. I hope you enjoy it.

As usual, new chapter next week.

Horizon – Chapter 2

Now with drop caps!

The plot thickens and some clarity is brought to the entire plot of things. What is Horizon? What’s the plan? What could possibly go wrong? Read to find out.

It looks like I’ve gotten into the groove of this story so a chapter per week is the schedule from now on. Thing are going well with the further chapters and the initial stiffness is gone so I’m feeling good about my ability to keep the story going until the end. Hope you keep reading until then 🙂

The Stone gets a Daily Deviation

Hey.

You might remember I entered The Stone in a contest on Deviantart. It got a honorary mention, but it seems the reward itself came a bit later. Today to be precise.

The Stone was given a Daily Deviation, which means that — for today — it appears on the front page of Deviantart for the millions of visitors to see along with a selection of other artists works. The effect is pretty clear seeing as the work has been viewed by over 2300 people today with 700 people downloading the PDF. The comments have been largely positive so I’ve been feeling pretty good all day 🙂

Hopefully this translates to a few more readers for my works in general, but we’ll see. Even if it doesn’t, it has been great seeing so many people give my writing a go.

Horizon – Chapter 1

Good news everyone!

After much consideration and rewriting and tuning, here is the first chapter of the new long term story: Horizon. As with Voyage of Elwar Soran, we jump ahead in time and get a glimpse of what the world has become. This also marks the return of Nala as the main character. I hope I managed to make the first chapter an appealing one, though I have to admit this one starts more slowly than my previous stories and because of its setting it might take a little getting used to.

Please note that you will get a lot more out of the story if you’ve read the two previous ones. So while you can read this as a stand-alone story, I would suggest against it.

And without further rambling, here’s the link to it: Horizon

I hope it peaks your interests. Whether this is the point at which I start releasing a chapter every week, I’m not yet fully certain, but I hope that is the case. We’ll have to see how the writing goes.

The Stone and the Contest Results

Hey.

You might remember that a few months ago I posted a story called The Stone on here and mentioned it’s taking part in a contest on Deviantart. Well, the results are in on that.

Out of 59 works submitted, three were rewarded and four got a honorable mention. The Stone was among those four works that got a honorable mention. To be honest I wasn’t expecting it to do that well, but it’s always a pleasant surprise to see yourself proven wrong.

You can find the full results here: Daily Literature Deviations Summer Contest results.

Some good works there if you’re looking for some short pieces to read 🙂

The Game and Some Updates

Hello.

No new chapter this week, but I’ll give you a short Sci-Fi piece instead. It’s one of those stories that has clawed its way out of the darker corners of my mind so it has a lot of things in it; strong language, nudity, violence, gore, the usual suspects.

The story focuses on Tom, a nervous wreck of a man whose debtors are hot on his heels, wanting their money. Having scavenged an cyborg leg from a body floating in the river, he hopes to get enough money for it from an used parts shop, but things are not that simple..

As far as the next long term story goes, I now have about 27 pages of it written. Still a bit unsure about it, but feeling much better than a week ago. Starting to think it will actually work out with a bit of tweaking. Still, expect it to take at least a few more weeks before you get to see the first chapter. Meanwhile, there might be a few more short stories I’ll get to finish to keep you reading 🙂

The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Complete

Well, the day has finally come. It’s done. All 354 pages, 131,300+ words of it. The last chapter is here and so ends the epic voyage of our heroes. Not much to say about the last chapter other than I hope it is an worthy ending to the story. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Without any further blabbering, here are the links:

The Voyage of Elwar Soran – The Entire Novel

It will probably be a while until the next story starts seeing chapter releases. I have about 20 pages of it written already, but I’m not sure I like any of it. Will have to write more to see 🙂

Meanwhile, after you’ve completed reading VoES, here’s a little something to give you a glimpse of things to come(I reserve the right to make changes as necessary): Link to image.

The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Chapter 18 & Other Updates

Lots of things to say this time around. Let’s start with the traditional new Sunday chapter. That is, chapter 18 of our story. It’s the second to last one and sheds some light to the events that took place in the previous chapter. It takes the story even further away from the traditional roots of the genre, but I hope it works 🙂

As usual, new chapter has been added to the part three PDF: The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Part Three

On top of that there’s a short story I completed that has been laying around on my hard drive for months. It gives us a glimpse to the life of the Northern Barbarians that roam the plains of Balaria. It focuses on a young man called Diew and in his part in the clans traditional Midsummer Festival. I hope you find it enjoyable.

Also, a bit of an heads up that my website might be unreachable for a day or two in the nearby days or weeks. I’m changing my hosting company as the current one has become unbearably expensive compared to what you get with your money. So, if some day the website doesn’t load, don’t be alarmed. Just try again the next day 🙂

The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Chapter 17

Hey hey!

Chapter 17 is here and starts the spiral to the exciting end of our journey. Even this chapter will shake the very foundations on which everything has been built. I hope you enjoy it.

The usual link: The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Part Three

In other news, I have started on the first pages of the next story. It’ll probably be a while before I start posting that since there are a lot of things I still need to work out for it. That and there are a few short stories I’ve had laying around for a long time and want to finish. But hey, there’s still two weeks worth of VoES left for you to enjoy 🙂

The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Chapter 16

I don’t really have much to say about this chapter. It makes the plot go forward and introduces some twists and turns.

What I can say is that chapter 19 will be the last chapter in this novel. I’m currently nearing the end of it so hopefully I’ll have finished writing this story by next weekend. Then it’s on to making the next project come to life 🙂

Anyway, link is the usual: The Voyage of Elwar Soran – Part Three
