Guardian Spirit – Chapter 7 & Other Stuff

Hi!

So, chapter 7 of Guardian Spirit is done. I have also added a prologue to the story that hopefully adds a bit of something in the back of your mind when you read through the chapters.

So a quick list of changes:

  • Added a prologue
  • Added calendar years to when the prologue and chapter 1 happen to give a sense of time
  • Added chapter 7. Some issues might remain due to lesser amount of polish than earlier chapters
  • Small grammar fixes etc. to chapters 1-6

Creation Story

Every world needs a story on how it came to be. It might not reflect what the beings in the world believe the story to be, but elements of it can certainly be found in all of the stories trying to explain such an event. Here is the story of how the world of Balaria came to be.

It is a rough version that no one else has read so it might still have some issues, but the core story is there and will not change.

Maybe it’ll mean more people reading them and giving feedback which I would highly appreciate since it is a great way of improving the quality of my writing and of the stories.

Guardian Spirit: Chapter 6

Hello!

Chapter 6 of the Guardian Spirit story is done and the link for the whole story is below. Besides a whole new chapter there are a lot of changes to the other chapters as well. A small list of the changes:

  • Chapter 1 should now be pretty much stable. Some small grammar mistakes/typos aside.
  • Chapter 2 received a major rework. It should read much better now. Content wise I’d consider the chapter done.
  • Chapter 3 received small tweaks, mainly to give more emotion to the story and characters
  • Chapter 4 received minor tweaks. Mainly to improve the feel.
  • Chapter 5 received minor tweaks. Mainly to improve the feel.
  • Chapter 6 released. I’m the only one who has read it so expect there to be things I have been blind to after many readings.

Hello!

After a fair bit of time I’ve finally finished chapter 5 of Guardian Spirit. I hope you all enjoy it. Next chapter is pretty much laid out in my head and I’m also starting to put together some information about the most important cities in the world of Balaria. So hopefully there will be more stuff coming in a much faster time scale than it took to complete chapter 5.

A Prettier Map

After a bit of work I created a(in my opinion) better looking map for Balaria. I used GIMP to trace the outlines from the old map and then used the Overland Map Brushes to add cities, trees, mountains etc. to it. The map is black & white because I couldn’t really find a suitable color balance to make a colored one look nice. Anyway, below is the new map. Hope you like it.
